Introduction
The RATS module for Drupal integrates the Rambla Transcoding web services (aka RATS) in a Drupal CMS environment. Using a simple step-by-step wizard the user is guided through the process of transcoding a locally stored source file. No technical knowledge of the RATS API is required, making this module suitable for end users responsible for managing content. For now, this module is only available for Drupal 5. A Drupal 6 release will follow soon.
Quick overview of features
- Upload a local file (stored on your computer) to the Rambla Transcoding server.
- Enter a filename and export destination for the file: the transcoded file will be published to the Rambla CDN to a folder that you decide.
- Choose a transcoding format out of a list of predefined formats (including web formats, HD,
- Optionally you can specify additional parameters, such as resolution and image/sound quality (bitrate).
- Submit your job, and follow it's status through the web interface. Optionally an email will be sent to you when file transcoding has finished.
- Import the transcoded file in the Drupal CMS (as a Drupal node), add metadata (such as channels, tags, author data etc) and publish.
Demo
The RATS module can be used by Rambla customers after logging in to our Control Panel. Go to Transcode your media and start transcoding your media files.
For non-customers we have set up a demo environment. Please contact Rambla to obtain a login.

PHP client libraries used in this module are publicly available for download as a Google code project.
Contact Rambla if you want to use the module in your own CMS. We will provide you with the source code, after evaluating the intended use.
